IAC Appoints Vice President, North America Commercial GroupDEARBORN, Mich. (January 22, 2008) - International Automotive Components Group North America (IAC) has appointed John Smail as Vice President, North America Commercial Group. In his new role, Smail will oversee all sales and program management functions with foreign and domestic manufacturers in IAC's North American commercial group portfolio. "We are continuing to build an extremely talented and capable team at IAC," said Jim Kamsickas, president and CEO of IAC North America. "John is a very experienced professional and brings more than 20 years of exceptional automotive experience in sales, program management and operations." Smail was previously Vice President of IAC's General Motors Commercial Unit where he was responsible for sales and program management. Prior to joining IAC, Smail held several positions at the former Collins & Aikman including Vice President and General Manager of its General Motors and Ford Business Units. Smail received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and his master's degree in Business Administration from Oakland University.
