The Old Fort Engineering Center was established in 1985 to provide IAC with an internal compression tooling center of excellence. As part of IAC’s vertical integration strategy, this facility designs and fabricates prototype and production compression toolsets including all secondary assembly tooling and gauges for a variety of interior component systems. The Old Fort facility is proud to provide IAC’s manufacturing locations with more than 25 years of vehicle interior tooling expertise and product knowledge.

Machining Capabilities:

• Large scale machining of aluminum billet and castings for compression
  tooling
• Large scale machining of soft materials such as REN-shape©, MDF,
  Sugar Pine , and Foam for tooling aids and Checking gauges

The Old Fort Engineering Center specializes in tooling design and manufacture of compression tooling , open pour and injection foam tools, and vacuum forming tooling. The Old Fort EC also designs and builds robotic assembly cells and secondary assembly tools for headliners and door panels. In addition to tooling, the EC has builds manufacturing equipment including , roll cutters, purge rollers, vinyl stretching frames, repairs and refurbishment of returnable racks, and transfer shuttle system frames. Our associates have extensive experience the soft trim tooling field, most with over 20 years of service.
